My husband is obese, and does not seem to think it is a problem?

My husband is six feet tall and weighs about 275 pounds. He has gained about 100 pounds in the past 8 years. He has gone from a size 34 pants to a size 44 and now wears a size XXL shirt. I can't even walk down the hallway in our house at the same time as him because he is so large. We don't even fit in our bed together anymore. His butt crack shows all the time because his clothes don't fit right. His triglyceride level is 252 and it should be under 150. I try to be nice about it and encourage him to lose weight because I care about him and I want him to live a long time, but he does not see his weight as a problem. I buy and cook nothing but healthy food which makes no difference because he eats doughnuts, fast food, and drink sodas all day at work. I offer to exercise with him but he is not interested. ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS????? PLEASE!!!

Tough love. You're going to have to come out and just tell him how you feel. The fact is that if it matters to you, then it is a problem, regardless of what he thinks. Sit him down, and tell him you love him... but his weight problem scares you, and you find it unattractive. Tell him everything you just mentioned here. You are unhappy, and you want him to see a doctor. It will be hard, it will hurt his feelings, and he may not take it well, but the fact is that you will be doing him a favor in the long run. Be supportive, but tell him you will not put up with it anymore. If he won't do something about it, then make him go to a marriage counselor so you can discuss your relationship. Otherwise you're going to be unhappy, and that is going to lead to divorce. You don't want that. Best of luck! It is a hard thing to tell someone about a problem like this.
